  Static WebSite

A static web site is like an online brochure giving information about your organisation, your products, services and contacts. It normally does not contain interactive functionality, and updates to content and images and are done with HTML skills.

What kind of business needs a static web site?

A static web site might be useful for a small business that simply wants to be found on the web, with only a few pages of information that do not change very often.

What are the advantages of a static web site?

  • Can be developed fast when small.
  • May be cheaper for initial development if small.
  • Pages are often delivered fast because the HTML code for each page is very simple.

  Dynamic Website

Dynamic systems are built on database management and database application software, to provide managed and secure access to information. This information can be stored on server, and can consist of any form of electronic document, data or image. Web site users make on-screen selections by clicking links, which in turn send instructions to application programs running on the web site. Web pages or other electronic documents such as PDFs are then typically constructed "on the fly" from the data stored on your web site or in remote locations. These documents are presented in a consistent format to the web user using standard templates that hold the site's look and feel.

What kind of business needs a dynamic web site?

A dynamic web site is a suitable solution for your organisation if:

  • you have information that needs to change regularly - such as news, events, scores, or feedback
  • if the information you want to present on your web site is or could be stored in a database
  • if the information on your web site comprises numerical or other similar data
  • you need to maintain a consistent look and feel

What are the advantages of a dynamic web site?

  • You can add more functionality in the future as and when needed, thus protecting your investment.
  • Web site content is up to date, because it is easy to manage. You can add, edit or delete pages, parts of existing pages, or manage data online without need a programmer and with minimal technical skill. Your web site is more useful for your web users.
  • You can have far greater real-time interactivity with your users.
  • Website content is kept up-to-date
  • If the information on your web site changes regularly, then a dynamic web site means reduced ongoing maintenance costs.
  • Because the look and feel of a page, and the navigation system are typically created automatically, there is more chance of keeping the site looking and working consistently well.

E-commerce
E-commerce is the pre-eminent buzzword of the online business revolution. It captures the excitement and focus of this fast emerging market. But it is more than a slogan or glib party line. At its core it embodies a concept for doing business online.

Electronic commerce is the paperless exchange of business information using electronic data interchange (EDI), e-mail, electronic bulletin boards, fax transmissions, and electronic funds transfer. It refers to Internet shopping, online stock and bond transactions, the downloading and selling of “soft merchandise” (software, documents, graphics, music, etc.), and business-to-business transactions.

The concept of e-commerce is all about using the Internet to do business better and faster. It is about giving customers controlled access to your computer systems and letting people serve themselves. It is about committing your company to a serious online effort and integrating your Web site with the heart of your business. If you do that, you will see results!

Domain Registration

A domain name is a name with a common domain name extension on the end. It is typically put in the form of domain.com, domain.net, domain.org or domain.info. There are other extensions available as well, but these four are the most common and most people that are on the Internet recognize them. A domain name is simply a placeholder for an IP address. Whenever you type a domain name into the browser something interesting happens . The browser will send that name to a server which will translate the domain name into an IP address. That server will then forward the request to the server that contains that IP address. What comes back to you are the contents of that final server. The entire process is unseen to human eyes.

  • .com represents the word "commercial," and is the most widely used extension in the world. Most businesses prefer a .com domain name because it is a highly recognized symbol for having a business presence on the Internet.
  • .net represents the word "network," and is most commonly used by Internet service providers, Web-hosting companies or other businesses that are directly involved in the infrastructure of the Internet. Additionally, some businesses choose domain names with a .net extension for their intranet Websites.
  • .org represents the word "organization," and is primarily used by non-profits groups or trade associations.
  • .biz is used for small business Web sites.
  • .info is for credible resource Web sites and signifies a "resource" web site. It's the most popular extension beyond .com, .net and .org.
  • .mobi (short for "mobile") is reserved for Web sites built for easy viewing on mobile devices.
  • .tv is for rich content/multi-media Web sites, commonly used within the entertainment or media industry.
  • .np is country code domain registerd in Nepal (eg .com.np, .org.np, .net.np)

Media Streaming

Media Streaming is content (Audio, Video) sent in compressed form over the Internet and displayed by the viewer in real time. With streaming media, a Web user does not have to wait to download a file to play it. Instead, the media is sent in a continuous stream of data and is played as it arrives. The user needs a player, which is a special program that uncompresses and sends video data to the display and audio data to speakers. Streaming media has additional advantages such as being able to broadcast live events (sometimes referred to as a webcast or netcast).

What are there different types of streaming technologies that I can use?

Currently we are providing following format for media streaming.

  • FLV: for video Streaming
  • MP3: for audio streaming
